Early results for county-wide offices, which are also non-partisan, have started to come in with nearly 12 percent of precincts reporting.

According to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, as of 10:00 p.m., Jeffrey Prang has the lead for Los Angeles County Assessor with 33,171 votes or 16.52 percent. John Morris was in second with 29,451 votes or 14.65 percent.

For the people that do not live in a Los Angeles Couty Sheriff's Department contract city, this race is arguably the more pertinent one.

Like the Sheriff's Department, the Los Angeles County Assessor's office went through a scandal when current assessor John Noguez was charged with bribery. He is currently on paid leave. The current plan to keep him out of the picture was crafted, in part, by Prang — who currently works in the office of the Assessor. Prang is also a current West Hollywood city councilman.

Long Beach Police Chief Jim McDonnell was in first place with 99,794 votes, or 46.47 percent of the vote. Former Under Sheriff Paul Tanaka was in second place with 33,054 votes, or 15.39 percent of the vote. The same amount of precincts have been reported.

Tanaka is the current mayor of Gardena, but is also under investigation by federal authorities. If McDonnell can get 50 percent of the vote plus one, there will be no general election.

In the race for the 3rd District seat on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, as of the same time and from the same source, there were still zero precincts reporting, which means that the count is still based only off absentee ballots. Kuehl is in first with 34.99 percent of the vote, followed by Bobby Shriver with 29.88 percent and John Duran is in third with 14.96 percent. Duran is also on the West Hollywood City Council.

In the race for the 1st District Seat on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to replace termed out Gloria Molina, as of the same time, 2.39 percent of precincts have been reported. Hilda Solis, a former member of President Obama's cabinent, has the commanding lead with 66.77 percent of the vote.
