5 Trends Rihanna Spearheaded
Last week at the annual Council of Fashion Designer's Awards, Rihanna who was awarded Fashion Icon of 2014, graced the red carpet…naked. Showing up in an Adam Selman fishnet gown with nothing but Swarovski crystal detailing, Rihanna snapped the media into sharp attention. Again, this made the top of the list of Rihanna's intensely risqué outfits of choice, but we have to hand it to the pop star, whatever the mainstream preferably hates, she can make look good. Of course, there was noticeable backlash namely with one of the members of the former female group TLC, who commented during an interview with Channel 7's Sunrise saying, "Every time I see you you don't have to be naked. It's easy to sell sex."
While being as revealing as possible is one of Rihanna's signature looks, there are other looks (fully clothed) that she spearheaded and became a fast trend among other celebrities.
Stiletto Nails
When Rihanna debuted these dagger nails in 2013, many stars followed suit, taking different shades to them.

Denim on Denim
The denim matching trend was something that Rihanna ressurected from the 90s and surprisingly, other celebs followed suit!

Printed Co-Ordinates
In late 2012, the matching top and bottom made it's first debut on Rihanna's 777 tour and it didn't catch on until early spring of 2013.

Jersey As A Dress
Rihanna is a huge fan of skin showing, so of course she would be wearing a jersey as a plain dress. What was surprising was how quick it caught on trend.
Pixie Cut
Halle Berry has been rocking her famous pixie cut since the early 2000s, but when Rihanna decide to don the do in 2012, suddenly the hairstyle became a crowd favorite.
