Another child celebrity, another controversy regarding a raunchy photo shoot as Willow Smith became the latest young female to receive criticism on Tuesday after pictures surfaced with 20-year-old Moises Arias.

The 13-year-old daughter of powerhouse couple Will and Jada Pinkett Smith was photographed lying on a bed fully dressed next to a shirtless Arias. The black and white photo originally posted by Arias on his Instagram account has since been taken down after the photo went viral and sparked concern that the image resembled a far too risqué implication for someone of Willow Smith’s age.

Willow’s mom, Jada Pinkett Smith, has since come out in defense of her daughter stating that there was nothing sexual about the picture whatsoever; however, there are some who express concern that Willow may be acting a bit too old for her age.

This is not the first controversy regarding scandalous pictures as everyone remembers Miley Cyrus’ infamous photo shoot in Vanity Fair from 2008 in which she posed naked with just a sheet covering her body.

The issue is that these young childhood stars are treated like adults as they work fulltime jobs yet they are also consistently in the spotlight portraying this image for kids their age everywhere. Therefore, a potentially risqué photo of Willow Smith or Miley Cyrus or whatever child celebrity it is next week poses a threat to the values of their audience.

Willow Smith like most child celebrities is known for her maturity something that both her parents cited as reasons not to be concerned regarding the recent photo controversy. Arias who used to work with Miley Cyrus on the set of Hannah Montana is known to be a close family friend of the Smith’s further promoting the notion that the picture is clean, innocent fun.

However, the age we live in with constant, direct access to each other’s lives will continue to allow people to raise their eyebrows over potentially inappropriate photos like this as they see their own child’s loss of innocence as they watch a young celebrity’s fall before their eyes.
