U.S. Offers To Help Rescue Abducted Nigerian Girls

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry offered on Tuesday to send a team to Nigeria to help search for the kidnapped girls.

Two weeks ago, 234 Nigerian girls were kidnapped from a boarding school by the extremist group Boko Haram, which has links to al-Qaeda. With most of the girls still missing, Nigerian lawmakers are calling on the international community to help in the rescue efforts.

Human rights advocates agree that the Nigerian military is ineffectual and doesn't have a successful track record when it comes to stemming attacks by Islamist militants.
