UCLA Won The First “Lorenzo Cup” Chinese Students Soccer Tournament

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) beat the University of Southern California (USC), 2 to 1, in the first “Lorenzo Cup” Chinese students soccer tournament on April 27. As the sponsors, Lorenzo and Roudr granted the UCLA team $500.

The tournament was host by Southwestern Chinese Students and Scholars Association (SWCSSA), and CSSA of USC and University of California, Santa Barbara. 12 Teams-250 Chinese students in total-participated in the contest, including University of California, San Diego and University of California, Irvine. After preliminaries, UCLA and USC got the tickets to the finals.

Mingxu Sun, vice president of USCCSSA and the promoter of the contest, was responsible for the whole tournament. He and his team covered from the preparation work, including planning and advertising, to integrating the tournament.

“After the contest, many fellows told me that they wanted more opportunities to play soccer. So I think our team will make plans to meet the needs,” said Sun.
