Three people are reported missing after a mudslide hit the Grand Mesa in Western Colorado, according to The Daily Beast.

The Denver Post reports that the approximately 2 mile wide, 4 mile long and 250 feet deep mudslide hit the mesa on Sunday evening. The missing persons are residents of the Mesa and Collbran areas.

Rescue teams were dispatched to the affected area to search for Clancy and Danny Nichols, and Wes Hawkins, who went missing after checking for damage from a previous mudslide, according to the Huffington Post.

The mudslide is the result of heavy rain falling in the area earlier that day, but no structural damages were reported, according to FOX 31 News.

The area is frequented by many people for camping, hiking and fishing and no one else is believed to be missing, according to CBS Denver.
