Well, that was some good publicity!

Solange Knowles enjoyed a whopping 233% increase in her record sales after the controversial elevator fight between her and brother-in-law Jay Z was captured on video.

Two weeks ago, surveillance footage showed the R&B performer kicking and punching the rap artist in an elevator after a party at The Standard Hotel, while Beyoncé observed the confrontation. Earlier that day, the trio had attended the Met Gala in New York. After the video went viral, many fans were left confused, since the Knowles–Carter clan often avoids negative publicity.

However, this incident seems to have had a positive effect on Solange’s career. According to Nielson SoundScan data for the week of May 18, the “Losing You” singer’s digital sales were at 2,000 downloads, up 600 from the previous week.

And, all is well within the family, too. Beyoncé, Jay Z and Solange released a joint statement shortly after the fight, saying that they have “worked through” the drama and have “put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”

Happy endings do exist, right?
