Gerry Adams, leader of Sinn Fein - the political wing of the Irish Republican Army, was released Sunday after four days of questioning over the killing of mother-of-ten Mrs. McConville.

Jean McConville, a 37-year-old widow, was abducted from her Belfast home, shot and secretly buried under suspicions that she was an informer to the British Army. Her body was found on a beach in 2003.

Adams is a former MP for West Belfast and now an elected representative in the Irish parliament. He was arrested Wednesday under the terrorism act for questioning about the IRA murder of Mrs. McCoville.

After release, Adams stated that Sinn Fein is fully committed to the political process in Northern Ireland. It is unclear whether charges will be brought on him by the prosecuting lawyers.
