A woman was hospitalized this morning after she was attacked and robbed in Griffith Park, near the intersection of Los Feliz Boulevard and Fern Dell Drive.

This marks the second attack on a woman in the park in a week.

The attack happened at about 5:20 this morning, during which a man approached the woman and attempted to steal her backpack. After a violent struggle, the man fled on a bicycle with some of her property. The woman was hospitalized, but police say she is now in stable condition.

Last Wednesday a woman was attacked in what police are calling attempted sexual assault. The woman was hiking alone when she noticed she was being followed. The man groped and punched her before she fought back, forcing him to run.

Although police are yet unsure whether the two attacks are connected, the possibillity is being investigated. In both instances, the suspect is a Latino man in his 30s.
