Every year, artists fight to release a song that will be the summer anthem.

Last year, the hits “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke and “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk both fought to be the Song of the Summer. While that debate still continues, it’s time to see which song will be playing at all the barbecues and pool parties this year!

Here are our 8 contenders for the 2014 Song of the Summer:

“Come Get It Bae” - Pharrell [feat. Miley Cyrus]

While he was apart of both “Blurred Lines” and “Get Lucky” last summer, Pharrell’s newest release from his album G I R L is a strong contender for this year’s top song.

“Fancy” - Iggy Azalea [feat. Charli XCX]

If this catchy and beat blasting song isn’t already stuck in your head, it will be soon! With the help of Charli XCX, newcomer Iggy Azalea and her hit song have exploded and show no signs of slowing down!

“Summer” - Calvin Harris

When you’re looking for that feel-good summer vibe, look no further, your answer is right there in the song title! Harris’s next big dance track is already unstoppable.

“Problem” - Ariana Grande [feat. Iggy Azalea]

How can you beat a Grande and Azalea combo? This sassy summer anthem is already becoming a mega-hit!

“She Looks So Perfect” - 5 Seconds of Summer

Since the UK gave us The Wanted and One Direction, Australia gave us 5 Seconds of Summer. But don’t let their name fool you. With their boy-band good looks and pop tunes, these boys will last longer than five seconds.

“Turn Down for What” - DJ Snake and Lil Jon

Though this track came out at the end of 2013, it is still owning the radio and the charts. Expect to hear this party-rocking song until you can't turn down anymore!

“Wiggle” - Jason Derulo [feat. Snoop Dog]

To follow up his mega-hit “Talk Dirty,” Jason gives us “Wiggle.” Like “Talk Dirty,” this song is going to be making major waves this summer.

“This Is How We Roll” - Florida Georgia Line [feat. Luke Bryan]

What’s summer without a good ole country anthem? After they made us roll our windows down and “Cruise,” the duo is back with Luke Bryan and their newest feel good vibe.
