A woman who was convicted of assaulting a police officer in the Occupy Wall Street protests in 2012 has been sentenced to three months in prison, according to the New York Times.

New School graduate student Cecily McMillan, 25, will also serve five years’ probation and community service after serving her prison sentence for elbowing officer Grantley Bovell in Zuccotti Park. McMillan was expecting two to seven years in prison, according to Mashable.

McMillan has garnered support from a wide variety of parties, such as the controversial group Pussy Riot, as well as members of the New York City Council. During her trial, McMillan denied committing the crime, stating her actions as “unintentional”, according to the Wall Street Journal.
