Hundreds Dead In Turkish Mine Explosion

At least 238 people are dead after an electrical fault ignited an explosion in a coal mine in western Turkey. According to ABC News, 787 workers were inside the mine before the blast, with about 120 people still unaccounted for. The death toll is expected to rise.

The mining disaster angered city residents in Soma, with protestors marching to the country's ruling party headquarters to clash with riot police. Today's Zaman carries word of other protests throughout the country.
