Bus Drivers Keep L.A. Moving All Night
At 28-years-old, Joshua Salazar has already had a number of career paths. He studied creative writing in college, toured with a jazz band playing alto sax and loaded boxes at a FedEx, to name a few. But he thinks he’s found his calling: driving city buses, like his father did.
Joshua is one of thousands of Angelenos who have helped their neighbors navigate the city in the last century. Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus, the oldest among SoCal’s transit agencies, started operating in 1928. The L.A. Metro (or, at least, its precursor) appeared in 1951.
