So, you’ve been to Hollywood.

You’ve done the whole nightlife thing and every week a club promoter Facebooks you about some event that’s supposed to outdo the one from the week before.

Yet time and time again, although you are really hoping for that extra special something, you are disappointed because it’s the same old same old.

Get cute, stand in a long line of  socialites, get in the club, get hit on by some creepy guy then hit the bar.

You then make your rounds through the crowd, duck past the shot girl with the insanely expensive grey goose bottle with lethal fireworks exploding out of it, take a bathroom break to fix your makeup and have a friendly conversation with the same bathroom lady you met at another club the night before. Last but not least, you see a girl float from the ceiling, high pressured smoke machines blow confetti for the finale and then you call an Uber home (Uberx because it's cheap)

Same old, same old.

Well, if you’re looking for a new type an event that is at a club but encompasses so much more than the average clubbing scenario previously described, I've got a story for you.

In comes ABunDance. Yes, this is the actual title.

ABunDance is a series of events put on each month by Grateful Generation. The company describes the event as a “Bohemian Burner Bazzar that represents a departure from the typical nocturnal playground.”

The most recent of the ABunDance events happened last week at Lure; ABunDance Tribe.

We’re talking mystical looking creatures towering over the crowd on stilts, some lady doing acrobatics on poles (no… not a stripper) and bubbles…lots of bubbles.

There was a magical ice princess, complete with ice blonde dreadlocks, real live mermaids and people dressed in their best technicolor tribal wear.

The heart of the experience (other than that love energy that brought everybody together) was the music. And the lineup was stacked with some familiar tunes as well as some new names.

Artists included:

Former Glitch Mob member, Kraddy

Jason Burns

Hug Life

Buku

and Daniellow

To get a better feel for the event check out the video put together by Drone Dudes. Yes, drone coverage, so cool.

If you missed out on this event, no fear! Another one is right around the corner.

May’s theme “ABunDance Into the Future” will be held on May 31st at Lure with Phutureprimitive headlining.
