If the United States of America has dubbed itself the "Melting Pot," it's time to reevaluate things, since it's more or less of a "Salad Bowl." However, it might just be ready for the "Melting Pot" analogy in 2060.

Some changes are pretty clear--the racial demographics, political preferences, and tech savvy of today's youthful generations.

The Pew Research Center released a new report titled "The Next America," which poured decades of demographic research into a multimedia project that takes curet patterns and predicts their longterm impact over the next 50 years.

According to the study, nine trends will define the future of America. These trend consist of a smaller percentage of Caucasians, a much greater number of interracial marriages and children, there will be a greater number of immigrants, religion is subsiding, political views are moving left, and the use of technology is increasing, among other areas such as politics.

For some areas it's hard to say whether or not these changes are good, but for others such as the increase in diversity and immigrants, it can be agreed as something beautiful. Just take a look at the series PolicyMic features from National Geographic.
