A black woman is considering buying Donald Sterling’s basketball team: Oprah Winfrey may join businessmen David Geffen and Larry Ellison to make a bid for the Clippers.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver banned Sterling from the league for life on Tuesday and said he asked the league’s board of governors (the other team owners) to force him to sell his team.

Geffen said he and Ellison would run the team, and Winfrey would be an investor.

Geffen tried to buy a controlling stake in the Clippers in 2010, but Sterling turned him down.
