While Miley Cyrus’ controversial “Bangerz” Tour continues to surprise audiences, it was for an entirely different reason last night.

In a rare show of emotion during her Boston tour stop, Cyrus broke down in tears as she dedicated a song to her dog, Floyd, who passed away on April 1.

“I'm sure you guys already know, but the reason that I'm so upset is my dog. I shouldn't say he was my favorite, but he was my favorite, and he passed away,” Cyrus said.

“It's going to be hard for me to sing this next song. I'm not sounding myself, I don't feel myself,” she added before performing an emotional cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landside.”

Cyrus first opened up about the passing of her Alaskan Klee Kai on Twitter.

“I’m sorry in advance if I am not myself tomorrow, Boston,” Cyrus tweeted on April 1. “I will try my best to be my best."
