Ladies, get excited. Magic Mike and his crew of gyrating strippers are making their return to the big screen.

Channing Tatum will reprise his role as the sexy exotic dancer with the heart of gold when the super-sized "Magic Mike XXL" hits theaters July 3, 2015.

The first film directed by Steven Soderbergh grossed a whopping $113.7 million at the box office, so naturally a follow-up was inevitable. Greg Jacobs will take over for retired Soderbergh in the upcoming installment, and Tatum is flexing even more of his talents (pun, intended), co-writing the script with Reid Carolin. The 33-year-old actor revealed a few secrets to MTV about the movie after Sunday night's MTV Movie Awards.

"We don't want to make it some serious slice-of-life movie," he admitted backstage. "There was some darkness in the last movie and I think it surprised people and shocked people. This one, we want to have a lot of conflict and a lot of struggle, but we also want there to be a sh-t ton of fun. A sh-t ton of ridiculous stuff that you would never see in a movie, on the face of the earth, ever again."

The entire original cast, including Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer, is expected to return, although most deals are not set in stone yet. However, Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey will definitely be back for another memorable turn as head stripper Dallas.

"It's the most McConaughey that we've seen in a movie, not just physically. It's just him," Tatum said. "He's not the stripper from Tampa, but it's just his personality. He such a believer. He believes in every single thing he does whole-heartedly. That's Dallas. If he's selling ice to an Eskimo, he just believes that the Eskimo needs this ice."

And, while you await next summer's release, reminisce with this glorious "Pony" dance.

You're welcome.
