Five LA County students died last night in Northern California after a fiery collision with a freight truck killed 10.

The students were on their way to a tour when a Fed-Ex freight truck drove over a grassy median and slammed into a charter bus carrying 19 LAUSD students.

The students were on their way to tour Humboldt State University as part of a college preview for low-income and underrepresented students, according to the University.

Jonathan Gutierrez, 17, a survivor, told the LA Times that fire engulfed the front of the bus where the worst damage and fatalities occurred.

Both drivers of the vehicles have been reported dead according to the Wall Street Journal.

So far no names have been released.

In a press release, LA Superintendent John Deasy said he was "deeply saddened to learn about the tragic accident" and that those seeking information may contact the Humboldt State University Police at 707-826-6327.

The Transportation Safety Administration sent a team to help in the investigation, according to the New York Times.
