L.A.'s Food Bloggers Create 30 Mac 'N' Cheese Recipes In New Cookbook For Charity
Members of the Food Bloggers Los Angeles group have created a variety of recipes to satisfy all palates, from decadent to healthy tastes. The goal was to embark on a meaningful project that gave people creative variations on America's favorite comfort food, while raising money for a good cause.
Mo' Macaroni and Cheese is now available on Amazon's Kindle store for $1.99, and categories include classic recipes, international variations, lightened-up dishes, and mac and cheese with a twist. There's something from everyone, from gourmet mac and cheese with home-cured pork belly, to gluten-free and even vegan variations of the classic dish.
"Our members rose to the challenge to reimagine mac and cheese in wildly creative ways," says project editor Alison Ashton, director of content at NOURISH Network. "I was amazed by how they spun this childhood favorite in new directions."
Recipes include Pumpkin Mac and Cheese with Sage Breadcrumbs, Cauliflower Mac and Cheese Muffins, Fiesta Mac and Cheese, and Jalapeño Popper Mac and Cheese. The mouthwatering assortment of recipes come from top food blogs including Shockingly Delicious, Sippity Sup, Worth the Whisk and NOURISH Network, as well as up-and-coming blogs such as Tanaya's Table.
Patrons can feel good knowing that all proceeds benefit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, which feeds more than 1 million Los Angeles County residents annually.
The digital cookbook is also available on Google Play, Scrib'd, Nook and other platforms. With an ebook, you'll never worry about losing it, spilling on the pages or accidentally tearing part of the recipe. Search functions also make it easy to find a recipe that incorporates ingredients you already have, for example.
If you're wondering, Food Bloggers Los Angeles (FBLA) is comprised of a working group of local food bloggers. The group focuses on education, inspiration and good eats when meeting, with a mission to "stake our claim in the world of professional food journalism and recipe creation."
