Summer is the season where less is more. Hot days lead to even hotter nights. While this is the time for shorter hemlines and tube tops, Los Angeles fashion bloggers are showing off summer layers that will keep your style cool from dusk till dawn.

Angel Food Style blogger Sophie Elkus keeps her outfit light and easy. Elkus wears a sheer white lace top and floral skirt, both by Abercrombie & Fitch. She then throws on a denim jacket by J Brand to bring both structure and warmth for those chillier evenings. Her tan Vince sandals are fun and flirty, and also serve as the perfect neutral. After accessorizing with a metallic crossbody bag and a chic pair of shades, Elkus is summertime ready.

The best part about her layers is that they can be mixed and matched. You can tie the jacket around your waist for an edgier vibe or ditch it all together for a more casual feel.

Aimee Song of Song of Style takes a similar approach. She opts for a printed high-waisted A-line skirt from Topshop. The bright pink skirt screams hot weather with its colorful palm tree print. Song also chooses a white lace long-sleeve blouse from Dolce Vita on top, and completes the ensemble with a 7 for All Mankind jacket. She keeps it fresh by rolling up the sleeves for a flirty peek-a-boo effect. Cute sandals and fun bangles bring the entire outfit together.

Shea Marie of Peace Love Shea has different take on summer layers. In the festival spirit, Marie pairs a chambray top with white Juicy lace-up shorts and a flower headband. She unbuttons the shirt to let her swimsuit show underneath. Marie accessorizes with a gold statement necklace and a chunky gold belt, which she loosely drapes over her shorts.
Most summer layers can already be found in your closet, but if you're looking to spice it up for the warmer months ahead, your favorite retailers are carrying these very trends.  Play around with various pieces and you’ll achieve the ideal relaxed summer look.
