This season, athletic-inspired trends have taken over the runways and your favorite stores. Sporty-chic styles, seen most famously on stars like RihannaBeyonce and Khloe Kardashian, are fueled by comfort and a little bit of edge.

Athletic staples such as tapered sweatpants and basketball jerseys are at the forefront of fashion, and Los Angeles bloggers are taking notice.

Los Angeles style blog Street Geist always spots the hottest trends. This week, Anna, a local fashionista, rocks sporty pieces from head to toe, combining the NBA with everyday.
She wears a black and red jersey dress, an oversized kimono-style cardigan, and white mesh knee-high socks, which are similar to the hosiery seen on the court.
Anna completes her bold outfit with pale pink jelly sandals and accessorizes with long chains.

Shea Marie of Peace Love Shea takes a softer approach to the sporty trend, wearing a black and red jersey tank by the Stolen Girlfriends Club. The black tank has red and white detailing around the neck and sleeves. The letters "W.T.F." adorn the front above the number “13.”

Marie pairs the top with a black skort from Zara, which is a popular summer alternative to the basic skirt or shorts. Her white Brian Atwood mesh booties add a girly twist. A stark white crossbody bag (also from Zara) finishes the look.

While jersey tanks, tees and dresses are the most common ways to rock the sporty-chic trend this spring, fitted sweatpants with leather detailing stylishly update your preferred lazy-day attire.

Retailers like H&MAmerican Eagle OutfittersForever 21 and more are jumping on the sweatpants craze. These versatile athletic looks can be paired with heels for a girlish feel or sneakers for a more casual approach.

If you have grown weary of the trend, most of these pieces are probably already in your closet. Your vintage basketball jersey and comfy sweats can be spiced up to achieve this trend with minimal effort. Sporty fashions are both fun and relaxed. Take your athletic gear to the streets for a look that is on-trend, and most importantly, comfortable.
