It seems that former “Grey’s Anatomy” and “27 Dresses” actress Katherine Heigl has found a new way to get attention. Heigl has reportedly filed a lawsuit against New York drugstore chain Duane Reade for $6 million. To make things more interesting, it’s all because of a single tweet.

A month ago, Duane Reade tweeted a link to a celebrity photo that was posted on the Just Jared entertainment website. The photo on the website featured a casually dressed Heigl who was reportedly shopping at Duane Reade with her mom. The tweet, which has now been deleted, said the following: “Love a quick #DuaneReade run? Even @KatieHeigl can’t resist shopping #NYC’s favorite drugstore.”

So the company tweeted a photo of Heigl without permission. Is it really worth a $6 million lawsuit? The Los Angeles Times reported that to back up her case, she listed her onscreen accomplishments, number of Twitter followers, and even the number of Google hits her name receives.

Heigl’s attorney claims that if she wins the case, all of the money will be donated to the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, which was founded in 2008 to honor Heigl’s brother, who died in a car accident in 1986. The foundation, which also works with “Heigl’s Hounds of Hope,” aims to stop and prevent animal abuse.

While the money will apparently go to a good cause, Heigl does seem to be taking this too far. The tweet was taken off the company's Twitter page and after all, it was just a tweet. While it is understandable for Heigl to be frustrated with Duane Reade, a lawsuit seems to beg the question: Is Heigl doing all of this for attention or is she honestly offended?

What we have learned is this: think twice before typing up a message to Katherine Heigl on Twitter.
