'Justice League' 2018 Movie: What We Know
Currently, the superheroes we now know have been casted include Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman from "Man of Steel", Ben Afflect as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Gal Gadot as Diana Price/Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg and Jesse Eisenberg as villain Lex Luthor in "Superman vs. Batman".
As for other members of the Justice League, Ryan Reynolds might reprise his role as Green Lantern after his 2011 film. Flash will be played by Grant Gustin in the coming TV show "Flash" and perhaps he will reappear on the big screen as the same superhero.
However, some fans have been cynical about the new "Justice League" movie as previous DC superheroes other than the Dark Knight trilogy have had tough luck in box office. "Man of Steel" received mixed reactions from critics with a barely fresh rating of 56% on Rotten Tomatoes. It made a $290 million domestic gross, just slightly over the production budget of $220 million. While Reynold's "Green Lantern" in 2011 had an even worse result in the box office with a domestic gross that is $4 million short of the production budget. It had a rotten rating of 26% on rotten tomatoes. It is no wonder that fans do not have high expectations for the coming DC films.
Forbes, however, predict that the "Justice League" movie will succeed in box office as long as they're not "really bad movies that get trashed by critics". The theory is that Batman (The Dark Knight trilogy) and Superman (Man of Steel) made more than $1 billion in box office together with independent franchises. In simple math, if we add these two superheroes together in addition with new superheroes like Wonder Woman and Flash, it will be a massive hit.
Of course, even if the "Justice League" movie is better than fans expected, DC superheroes will be going head-to-head with Marvel superheroes in the box office. Marvel Studios have been having much better box office results with its superheroes movie such as the Spiderman franchise, the Iron Man franchise and "The Avengers" movie. When the Justice League movie comes out in 2018, so will other Marvel movies. It will be quite an epic battle in box office.
