Step aside, Cronuts. There's a new tasty combo and it looks pretty appetizing.

While the half-croissant, half-donut dessert hybrid was satisfying our tastebuds and racking up the wait-lines, a Chicago-based dream factory, known as Waffles Café, was creating something completely new and magical: the Wonut.

This half-waffle, half-donut creation is made with a slightly thicker version of the café's signature waffle batter, which is cooked in a waffle iron and then deep-fried.

The Wonut tastes "crispy and waffle-shaped on the outside, cakey and fluffy on the inside," according to Thrillist

Afterwards the fluffy goodness is dipped, and sometimes double dipped in sugar, marshmallow, maple or chocolate glaze, and topped with sprinkles, chocolate shavings, or a variety of other toppings.

Get this: there's also vegan options.

Looks like we might have to take an impromptu trip to Chicago to try out these little pieces of heaven. However, could we suggest some different names? Maybe Doughful, or Daffle.
