So far, getting your hands on Google Glass has been difficult if you're not part of the tech elite, celebrity, academic, or cultural tastemaker.

Now, regular folks (with $1,500 in expendable cash) can get their hands on the ocular device. According to reports, Google is set to sell its Glass device in a limited-time offer for U.S. residents on or around April 15th through its "Explorer Program."

After reports surfaced this morning about the sale, Google officially announced its plan to sell Glass on April 15th at 9AM ET (6AM PT).  Google is also including a free sungless shade or prescription lens frame with every order.

Potentital customers can sign up for reminders at the Google Glass website.
