Gabriel Garcia Marquez Dead At 87

Famed Colombian author and Nobel Prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez died on Thursday at the age of 87.

Garcia Marquez, considered to be one of the most important authors in the 20th century, was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1982.

His best-known works include "One Hundred Years of Solitude" and "Love in the Time of Cholera."

The author was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer in 2002 and Alzheimer's disease in 2006.
