An 8.2 magnitude earthquake struck the northern coast of Chile Tuesday night, causing landslides and a small tsunami. There are reports of six deaths and three serious injuries, according to Chilean authorities.

Chile's northern coast has been evacuated by the government which declared the area a disaster zone. Around 60 aftershocks have followed the initial earthquake, the strength of which was felt in Bolivia's capital 290 miles away. Evacuations were also ordered in Peru.
