At least four people have died, 55 injured, and 280 still unaccounted for as a ferry sunk off the coast of South Korea Wednesday morning.

Of the 462 total passengers, of which 300 are children, 175 have been rescued.

Ships and helicopters raced to save passengers who were traveling to the island for a four-day study trip. A major rescue operation is now underway in the hopes of finding the remaining passengers alive.
