A Wesleyan University student filed a federal lawsuit against the Psi Upsilon fraternity, its school chapter and some of the members on Tuesday for negligence that led to her rape in the common room at one of their parties.

The alleged incident occurred in May when the student claimed a naked fraternity member grabbed her as she tried to leave the party. He then threw her over the leg of the couch and raped her in front of many others, according to the complaint.

The University expelled the alleged perpetrator. The fraternity has not yet made a statement.
