VIDEO: USC First University To Get Burrito ATM
What happens when a burrito ATM, Burritobox, opens up on a college campus and gives out free burritos for the first 24 hours?
Hundreds of people show up, including burrito lovers from as far Temple City, Calif.
Burritobox, advertised as "the world's first burrito kiosk," allows customers to select the type of burrito they want and then heats it up in 60 seconds.
Redolent of the Sprinkles Cupcakes ATM, the Burritobox at USC was stocked with enough burritos to last the 24-hour free burrito period. Eighteen hours into the 24-hour free period, the burritos were already exhausted.
Kris Klinger, director of USC Hospitality, told ATVN's Kyler Jae that Burritobox to the USC campus doesn't seek to replace the traditional dining hall experience but rather supplement it on those late nights when the dining facilities and surrounding restaurants are closed.
