The Obama Administration has issued new sanctions on those undermining the sovereignty of Ukraine. The State Department says the sanctions apply to both Russian and Ukrainian citizens.

The sanctions expand visa bans that the U.S. has already applied to those it deemed responsible for human rights abuses and political oppression in the area. President Obama has also signed an executive order that allows the Treasury Department to freeze the assets of those who have misappropriated the use of Ukrainian funds or undermined Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

The administration would not say specifically who would be subject to the sanctions.
