Blake Mycoskie, the founder of TOMS, is taking a step in a different direction–towards coffee.

Venturing into the world of a barista, TOMS announced the emergence of TOMS Roasting Co at SXSW. The coffee endeavor will stay consistent with the one by one business model that the entire company has been built upon. Instead of a shoe for shoe, water will be given for every coffee bag purchased.

Mycoskie said in a statement, "Through my travels, I found that some of the greatest coffee comes from developing countries. I learned that the largest ingredient in coffee is water, and that in many of the countries producing coffee, there are huge populations of people without access to safe water."

TOMS has partnered with Water for People, a nonprofit whose goal is oriented around clean drinking water for all. Additionally, TOMS has set up manufacturing shoe companies in the countries that will work directly with the coffee farmers.

For every bag that is purchased, 140 liters of clean water will be provided to someone in a developing country. This translates into roughly a week of water for a single person.

TOMS Roasting Co. will offer six types of coffee beans: Rwanda Roast, Malawi roast, Guatemala roast, Carpe Diem Espresso, Peru Roast and Honduras Roast. All of which are named after the areas that the beans have been sourced from.

TOMS coffee is available on the TOMS website and conveniently at Whole Foods for $12.99.
