SXSW, like other formerly niche events like Comic Con, has branched out of its indie roots to become one of the biggest and most important showcases for artists, consumer brands, and media organizations.

Though the Austin film, tech, and music festival has become a behemoth cultural force, Santa Monica radio station KCRW has weathered the festival's shift from the underground to the mainstream.

NT Editor-at-Large and Annenberg Radio News producer Graham Clark and NT Music Editor Lilian Min chatted with two of KCRW's SXSW representatives, Producer Jenny Radelet and Music Director and "Morning Becomes Eclectic" host Jason Bentley, in advance of the station's music showcase to ask, what was it like in Austin, and what does the festival, despite its increasing commercialization, still offer?
