Congratulations to Cate Blanchett for winning Best Actress in a Leading Role. She takes the win for her role in "Blue Jasmine."

In her acceptance speech, Blanchett appeared stunned and grateful. She acknowledged each of the other nominees' performances. There wasn't anything too original about her speech, but she did acknowledge the importance of films with female leads at the center, which received much applause from the audience.

Other nominess in the category included Amy Adams in "American Hustle," Judi Dench in "Philomena," Cate Blanchett in "Blue Jasmine," Meryl Streep in "August: Osage County" and Sandra Bullock in "Gravity."
