Oscars 2014: '12 Years A Slave' Wins Best Picture

Congratulations to “12 Years a Slave” for winning the Oscar for Best Picture! It also won Best Adapted Screenplay and actress Lupita Nyong'o won Best Supporting Actress.

Director and producer Steve McQueen gave the acceptance speech on behalf of the rest of the team. He dedicated the Oscar to "all the people that have endured slavery" as well as the people that continue to fight against slavery today.

Other nominees for Best Picture included “American Hustle,” “Captain Phillips,” “Dallas Buyers Club,” “Gravity,” “Nebraska,” “Philomena,” “The Wolf of Wall Street” and “Her.”
