Pharrell’s “Happy” is an undeniably happy song. It’s so happy, it topped the charts and was nominated for an Oscar. It’s so happy, it made Lupita Nyong’o get up and dance along. It’s so happy, it makes you feel like a room without a roof.

Enter Woodkid.

The musician, known for his dramatic style, just released a “sad remix” of the happiest song on the radio. Accompanied by a melancholy piano, Pharrell’s celebratory lyrics almost start to sound ironic. It’s hard to imagine anyone who isn’t deeply depressed clapping along to this remix.
