Companies Who Love April Fools' Day
With April Fools' Day 2014 just around the corner, keep an eye on these companies for some sneaky and creative pranks. They have a history of having some fun with the day.
Last year, Google won April Fools' Day by adding a fake treasure map feature to Google Maps, turning Gmail blue, introducing a Google "nose" in which you can search by smell, creating a feature in which you can add emoticons to pictures and announcing the creation of a levity algorithm.
In the hopes of turning classic 90s sitcoms into movies, Funny or Die launched "Kickstart or Die" for funding.
Sony released an ad announcing that they were creating a new set of headphones specifically designed for cats.
Scaring millions of people worldwide, last April 1st YouTube announced that after eight years, they would be shutting down and no longer accepting videos. They even filmed a video with two faux presenters giving out awards for the best videos.
Hulu added new shows to their collection, including "Inspector Spacetime," "The Itchy and Scratchy Show," "MILF Island," "Mock Trial with J. Reinhold," "Ya Heard? With Perd," "Sick, Sad World," "Queen of Jordan," "Space Teens" and "Numberwang."
Last year, Sharpie announced its "Cheeseburger Collection," featuring such flavors as Catsup Red, Cheddar Orange, Buns Beige, Beefy Brown and Pickle Green.
In 2013, Vimeo became Vimeow on April 1st, and for the day became a site dedicated to cat videos.
Twitter announced that they would no longer be a completely free service, and would begin charging $5 for the use of vowels in tweets. Vry fnny Twttr.
Skype published a blog post saying that they were launching Skype Into Space, which would allow people to video chat and instant message from space to Earth.
Taking America's bacon obsession to the next level, Scope announced that it was releasing a bacon-flavored mouthwash.

Sour Patch Kids released an ad for Shower Patch Kids - an edible body wash.
