Bullying Triples Suicide Risk

Bullying causes at least 2.5 times more children to try to commit suicide, a new study in the JAMA Pediatrics journal reported.

And cyberbullying is even worse, making teens and children even more likely to consider attempting suicide, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Suicide is the third leading cause of death in adolescents ages 15 to 19, according to the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Boston Globe reported that the teenage brain and its development makes teens more vulnerable to suicide.

Fifteen to 20 percent of adolescents are involved with bullying, the Christian Science Monitor reported.
