This rainy weekend, there will be plenty of reasons to stay in. You might have to study for midterms. You might want to just kick it with Netflix. You might even want to sleep to the sound of the rain’s pitter-patter on your windowpane. There are plenty of things to do in Los Angeles that will help you stay dry. For those who want to brave the weather, there are treats in store for you and your belly. This weekend is an opportunity to explore the culture L.A. has to offer.

1. Municipal Art Gallery, Barnsdall Park, Hollywood Boulevard

For painting aficionados or for those who appreciate art, the Municipal Art Gallery at Barnsdall Park is the place to visit this weekend. One of the things you can see there is F. Scott Hess’ Gallery of paintings. Hess’ gallery is comprised of 27 paintings and a group of 32 individual portrait panels that survey Hess’ work from 1978, according to a Los Angeles Times article. The Municipal Art Gallery is also exhibiting a gallery of Manfred Müller’s work called, “Objects Are Closer Than They Appear.” The best part of the experience is that it’s free to the general public. The gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m.

2. The Bun Shop, Koreatown

For fans of Asian food and the popular television series,  “The Walking Dead,” The Bun Shop is the place to be. Actor Steven Yeun, who plays Glenn Rhee on the show, opened up this bun and brew shop with his brother on Jan. 20. Located in Koreatown, the menu items incorporate flavors similar to Korean food for a new take on an Asian bun shop. Customers can choose different meats and vegetables to pair with the bread, along with several other appetites. Costs of the food range from five to 10 dollars.

3. Cronut at The Grove, L.A.

Instead of waiting hours in line, only to find out the shop is all out of cronuts, the original creators of the fried croissant donut are bringing the pastry to the streets. On Mar. 1, Cronut creator, Dominique Ansel will be there selling Milk and Honey cronuts for $5 each. The profits will go towards the Heart of Los Angeles, a non-profit that aims to empower underserved youth through exceptional academic, arts, and athletic programs. This is rare opportunity for cronut lovers to meet the creator of the popular-selling treat.
