28 people have officially been pronounced dead, and 113 more are injured following an organized terrorist attack in a railroad station in Kunming, China, according to Chinese news agency Xinhua.

A group of people rushed into the station weilding knives and began to attack riders at random, witnesses said. Many of the attackers were wearing black when they collectively entered the station.

Police were able to capture several suspects, but they still do not know how many people were involved in orchestrating the attack, Xinhua reports.

Medical personnel at the Kunming No. 1 People's Hospital, where the wounded victims are being treated, told Xinhua that the definite number of fatalities is still unclear, and may be rising.
