The celebrities at the 2014 Academy Awards played the fashion card rather safely, while Los Angeles was experiencing some rainy weather. Some of these styles aren't too bad, but they definitely caught people's attention.

Williams attended the Oscars in a Lanvin shorts tuxedo. Fans were disappointed to see the singer wearing no pants, but shorts that looked like a school boy’s uniform instead.

She wore a blue satin, off-the-shoulder shirt with matching blue satin pants. “The Wizard of Oz” actress and Judy Garland’s daughter had a matching blue streak running through her hair to match her outfit. It’s Judy Garland’s daughter. Is she forgiven?

Blanchett walked the red carpet in a beaded Giorgio Armani gown. Though the dress looked better on her than it would hanging, the nude colored dress with bluish beads looked like the actress woke up from living under the sea.

She wore a black, strapless Dior dress that fitted her body like a tight hug. The dress was somewhat classic because if its color, but the actress was keeping it safe. The top of the dress was similar to a black bra with the straps cut off.

Singer John Legend’s wife wore Monique Lhuillier dress, Jimmy Choo shoes and clutch with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. The dress was fitted at the torso and puffy at the bottom, which looked like pink paint was splattered all over.

Hathaway’s Gucci dress looked like she had CDs cut up and pasted at the top of the dress. The look was definitely edgy.
