"El Chapo Guzman" has finally been detained by Mexican Authorities
The world's most wanted drug lord, Juaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, has been captured with the help of the U.S. Government.

According to Mexican officials, American agencies provided information supporting this operation, which took several months of careful planning. "El Chapo's" capture was reportedly a success because he didn't resist his arrest and there were no gunshots fired. In addition, 13 other individuals were arrested and 43 autos (19 bulletproof), 16 houses, and 13 ranches were seized.

"El Chapo Guzman" is considered one of the richest and most dangerous drug lords in the world. Authorities blame him for most of the violence, drug-trafficking, and deaths Mexico has faced in the last few years.

So what exactly does his capture mean? What will Mexico and The United States do?

This event is a delicate issue for Mexican authorities and if things are not handled carefully, the capture of "El Chapo" can turn ugly if his people or cartels retaliate. Unless, of course, the Mexican and American governments set it all up as a distraction from the violent protests taking place in Venezuela and Ukraine.

Phil Jordan,  director of the intelligence department of the DEA said to Univision news that this capture "is a great victory for the U.S. and Mexico and that he "didn't think 'El Chapo' would ever be arrested because he gave lots of money to Mexican President Peña Nietos campaign." Jordan also claims that the famous drug lord "has always been involved in politics and that things will remain the same until he is presented to the U.S. Department of Justice, because he can still manage his multi-million dollar from prison."

Although those are some serious accusations towards the Mexican government, they aren't surprising because corruption still occurs worldwide. Hence, the government's involvement with Juaquin "el chapo" Guzman is definitely a possibility.

The aftermath of this important capture cannot readily be assumed. "El Chapo has been taken to an Undisclosed high-security penitentiary and will most likely be extradited to the United States, where he may face life in prison. However, as DEA Director Jordan said, "anything is possible with the kind of money he has."
