Woody Allen's attorney Elkan Abramowitz wants the world to know that Dylan Farrow isn't a victim of sexual abuse from Allen but rather a "pawn" in a series of ugly disagreements between Allen and mother Mia Farrow.

In an interview on NBC's "TODAY" this morning, Abramowitz explained that Allen's ex-partner Mia Farrow had manipulated her seven-year-old daughter Dylan Farrow to believe Allen has molested her.

Abramowitz's response to the allegations was supportive of Allen yet empathetic toward Farrow's allegations. He insisted that Dylan Farrow is "not lying" but instead, truly believes she suffered the abuse 20 years ago. "That's what the vice of this is. When you implant a story in a fragile seven-year-old's mind, it stays there forever, it never goes away," he said.

Dylan Farrow's allegations went public over the weekend after she published an open letter in the New York Times that detailed the harrowing memories of her alleged abuse. The celebrated director has staunchly denied her accusations, dismissing the letter as "untrue and disgraceful."

During today's interview, Abramowitz also attributed much of the "confusion" surrounding the allegations to public misconception of Allen's ongoing relationship with wife Soon-Yi Previn. Abramowitz asserted that contrary to popular belief, Previn is not in fact Allen's adoptive daughter but rather the adoptive daughter of Mia Farrow and André Previn.

When asked about next steps, Abramowitz's answer was straightforward: "The case is over. There is no case," he said. "The fact that it's being brought up now is suspect, the timing is suspect."
