Drama, suspense, betrayal, tears. It's not a soap opera though; it's National Signing Day. It's the culmination of the efforts of coaching staffs across the nation and it all comes down to receiving a simple fax.

At the start of the recruitment season, Trojans head coach Steve Sarkisian outlined his game plan for the 2014 recruiting class. “The focus starts in Southern California,” he said at a press conference in January.

The Trojans have the opportunity to live up to that statement with a trio of Southern California natives who just so happen to be highly sought-after recruits. Coincidentally, the Trojans currently have 16 committed players, leaving three spots open for scholarship players.

Damien Mama (St. John Bosco, 6’4”, 370 pounds)

Mama is at the top of the Trojans’ wish list. Mama is a heavy presence, standing at a modest 6’4, 370 pounds. Do not let the weight fool you though, as Mama is the No. 1 overall guard on the 247Sports composite rankings. He is said to be one of the top run blockers and will be a great addition for the Trojans up front.

John "JuJu" Smith (Long Beach Poly, 6’1”, 206 pounds)

Smith is ranked as the No. 2 player at his position by Rivals.com. He made a name for himself as both a defensive back and wide receiver, although he is projected to play safety at the next level, which leaves room for him to see action immediately if he joined the Trojans’ roster. With the loss of Dion Bailey to the 2014 NFL Draft, Smith has the ability to help out USC’s secondary putting his playmaking ability to good use.

The Trojans are not alone in their quest to sign the 5-star recruit, although they appear to be the favorite. Smith is also considering offers from Notre Dame and Oregon. His close relationships with Trojan commits Viane Talamaivao and spring entrant Toa Lobendahn may also influence his decision to sign with the Trojans

Adoree Jackson (Junipero Serra, 5’10”, 182 lbs.)

Rounding out the trio is Jackson, out of none other than Junipero Serra. Trojan fans may be noticing a trend with Serra and USC, possibly influenced by names like Robert Woods and Marqise Lee. Serra has seemingly become a feeder school for USC stars, and Sarkisian hopes to add Jackson to the list.

Jackson has cross-town rivals UCLA, Florida and LSU are also in the running for the dynamic athlete and understandably so. Last season, Jackson rushed for 639 yards and five touchdowns, racked up 812 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, and had 36 tackles, according to USA Today.

If Jackson signed to USC, he would be joining fellow Cavaliers in wideout George Farmer and QB Jalen Greene, who just started his education at USC this semester. With USC’s rapport with Serra, USC is still the favorite.

This electric trio will be making their announcements throughout the day on ESPNU -- Mama at 8:15 a.m. PST, Jackson at 11:10 a.m. and Smith at 1 p.m.

As for the other recruits on the Trojans’ radar, there are few other players the Trojans have their eye on during National Signing Day. If the verbal commitments the Trojans have received for the 2015 class are any indication of the success the Trojans will have on signing day, then they will come out winning. The Trojans landed a verbal commitment from quarterback Ricky Town, who recently decommitted from Alabama. Sarkisian already has a talented group going into signing day, and filling those last three spots with top recruits will be just what the doctor ordered.
