The Supreme Court decided Monday not to hear challenges to three court cases that uphold federal and state regulations for purchasing guns to the dismay of the National Rifle Association, who was behind two of the appeals.

In the first case, the NRA contested a Texas law that bans 18-20-year-olds from carrying handguns in public.

The NRA also challenged several federal laws against selling guns or ammunition to anyone under 21.

Washington D.C. residents wishing to buy guns in Virginia filed the third case arguing that consumers have the right to challenge laws regulating the sale of firearms.
