Thousands Flock Paris For Anti-Gay Protests

Tens of thousands of protesters flooded Paris and Lyon Sunday to protest gay marriage, the presidency of Francois Hollande, the use of assisted reproductive technologies and a law called "Mariage Pour Tous" (Marriage For All).
The organization behind the protests, Manif Pour Tous, plays on the name of the law, which legalized same-sex marriage in France last May. The country is the 14th to have created such a law, and an estimated 7,000 same sex couples have gotten married in France since its inception.
The marchers, who were mostly conservative and against a growing unpopular left-wing government, protested new sex equality lessons in schools and demanded the government not to legalize fertility procedures to help same-sex couples have children.

Sunday's demonstrations began around 1:00 PM and were part of a string of protests from both the Left and Right political camps that have challenged Hollande’s presidency on issues including same-sex marriage and the state of the economy.
