Mountain Lion Attacks Camper

A mountain lion attacked a man sleeping in a Riverside County, Calif. homeless encampment Saturday night. The man is expected to recover, but the mountain lion has not been found.

LAist reports the man was attacked while camped in a sleeping bag near Highway 74 west of Perris. He received injuries to his head, neck, arms, back and front from bites and lacerations.

The man managed to get to a nearby house to call for help. According to the article, he was not sure what kind of animal attacked him. Investigators from the California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife found that the injuries match a mountain lion's.
