Part of Terminal C at LaGuardia Airport was evacuated around noon Tuesday after the airport detected smoke from a luggage.

The suspected bag was being transferred on to Delta flight 5208 to Richmond, VA.

The New York FBI cleared the area about one hour after the bag was reported and resumed regular travel activity.

The FBI tweeted that: “All clear at LaGuardia Airport following earlier reports of a suspicious package.”

Although the alert was quickly removed, the smoke rattled passenger’ nerves already frayed by multiple flight cancellations due to snow.
