Earlier today, Punxsutawney Phil the groundhog disappointed fellow residents of Punxsutawney, Penn. when he emerged from hiding to predict six more weeks of winter. This was the first time since 2009 that the prediction was made on Super Bowl Sunday.

Legend says that if the weather on Groundhog Day is cloudy when the groundhog emerges, Phil will leave his burrow, signifying an early spring. If not, he will be scared off by his shadow and return to his burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks. However, the prediction is actually made earlier by the Inner Circle, a group that sports top hats and tuxedos in Gobbler's Knob, a small town near Pittsburgh.
